John assists Asda with the acquisition of Convenience Stores throughout the North West. In 2023 he acted for Asda acquiring their flagship store in Circle Square, Oxford Road, Manchester, also Chapel Walk Arches, Salford. For Burnley Council partnered with Maple Grove Developments, he advised on the delivery of Pioneer Place, a new cinema town centre development let to Reel, Nandos, Loungers, Starbucks and Heavenly Desserts. He is currently advising Preston City Council partnered with Maple Grove, delivering Animate, a new large scheme in Preston let to Arc Cinema, Hollywood Bowl, Las Iguanas, Zizzi, Cosmo and Loungers.

John acts for Developers and Councils advising on scheme sizing, functionality, occupier demand, requirements and pricing. Recent consultancy’s include the development of a contaminated brownfield site in Hattersley, Greater Manchester, to become an Aldi, a Costa Coffee drive thru and a terrace of Trade Counters. He advised the owners of K Village in Kendal, a failed shopping centre, which is now host to a large Travelodge, offices and coffee shop. In Knutsford he advised on the redesign of a former Barclays bank on the high Street for the landlords, undertook a targeted marketing campaign and secured a letting to premium brand, Mowgli restaurants.
Providing development advice to Developers and Local Authorities both on a performance basis or as Consultants is an increasingly important service being requested as town centres seek to reinvent and reposition themselves as retail and leisure destinations.
